Shelf Plans – Finding The Right Ones

During my renovation project I have had to complete a lot of diy projects.  Although I initially bought this download to get the shed and bed plans, Luci, my wife has since been inundating me with other diy projects.  The shelves that I built for the kitchen and bathroom were fantastic and just having access to all the information I’d need has made my diy projects so much easier.

Some of the best information that I got out of the download really wasn’t about the plans themselves, but rather the huge amount of ideas that the download has in it.  In the shelf section of the diy guide, I found a help file that showed how you should go about deciding which storage and shelf structures are going to be best.  It included locating storage shelves and cupbaords in redundant pace, like under the stairs or under the sink in the bathroom.  Even space like under the bed and in an old fireplace that you would otherwise have blocked off.

There was also loads of information on how to work with a variety of different woods and the information that was really useful to me was how to work with reclaimed and renovated wood.  Wood stripping, filler and finishes were covered in detail.   If this  information wasn’t in the download, I probably would have had to buy a book specifically for it, which would have cost me more money.  Now I have everything I need for any woodworking and diy project right on my computer.

.There are so many great contemporary designs to choose from in the woodworking download but this is great one for both bathrooms and bedrooms.  They are ideal for both children and adults rooms alike and are easy to build.

Bedroom Shelves – Headboard Shelving Ideas

Sometimes having enough space in the bedroom is difficult and placing your shelves around the headboard is the best option.  The best design that I found for a storage headboard is this one.

While this might look like a complicated project with shelves as well as draws, it really is less complicated than it looks.  It does however, require a bit more expertise than some of the other projects and will also require having a decent set of tools.

Besides offering a lot of information on what materials you should use and how to keep your costs down, this plan also includes a list of the tools you will need, so I’ll include that here too.

Tools for the Job

• Circular saw (or table saw)
• Dado blade attachment
• Drill
• Pilot bit, 1⁄8 or under
• 16 oz. carpenter’s hammer
• Nail set

• Phillips screwdriver
• Slot style screwdriver 3⁄16
• Hacksaw with 18 or 24 t.p.i. blade
• Heavy duty metal snips (for cutting shelf
support ends)
• Fine file (for smoothing cut metal)
• Finish sander
• Paint brushes: 2 and 3
• Safety glasses
